Lake Lorman Fishing Association (LLFA) was started by Floyd Doolittle in 1997. The mission of this association is to support and maintain a quality fishery and wildlife habitat. It takes a lot of hard work to maintain a healthy lake and we want to thank those who have supported LLFA, past and present. A healthy lake not only helps the fishing, but invites other wildlife such as birds of all species and enhances the whole ecosystem. Because most residents are not aware of all the work and duties performed by LLFA, we hope to give everyone a bit more knowledge through this message.
Fertilizing, structure, fish feeders and fish food is a direct duty that LLFA and volunteers performs each year to maintain the 2 lakes. Fertilizer is provided by Lake Lorman Association and distributed by LLFA members 6 to 9 times per year. Structure is placed in the lakes to insure habitat for bass, crappie, bream and forage fish. Fish food and feeders are purchased by member’s $100 donations per year to provide food for fish and other wildlife.
Lime was placed in both lakes February 2009 for #1 - Keep PH balance of water correct, and #2 - Get the optimal benefits from fertilizer. This enhances the food chain and provides resources for the small fish to grow.
Shocking of the two lakes is done each year and paid by LLFA. This information provides us the water quality, control fish quantities (with the shocking), changing of fish limits and information of our bait fish.
If you are not a member, please consider how much this ongoing project has to offer and become a part to insure the liquid assets that we have today will be maintained and preserved for our children and grandchildren.
Keeping all bass 17” and under keeps our lakes productive and in balance for years to come. If you do not want to keep the fish that you catch, find someone on the lake that wants them. Please do not throw them back. Below is a list of LLFA board members that will help you find someone to take them.
Dues are $100. Please send a check made payable to:
